The Right to Counsel
I was in court the other day in a small Southern Illinois town. There were probably 10 defendants in the court room and only one person my client was represented by a private attorney. It really makes me wonder what type of representation the other 9 defendants recieve? I hear the same old stuff, we are over worked and underpaid and this and that, but those excuses do not do their clients any good. While we have the greatest legal system in the world, it is apparent, as in most things in life, you get what you pay for.
